Orthodontics that fits around a working week
Most of the adults who ask us about Invisalign are not looking for a dramatic change. They had braces as a teenager, stopped wearing the retainer somewhere around their twenties, and have watched the lower front teeth slowly crowd back together ever since. That is a short, inexpensive case and it is the most common one we treat.
The reason adults choose aligners over brackets is rarely vanity alone — it is that aligners come out. You eat what you want, you floss normally, and you can take them out for the two hours that matter at a wedding or a presentation. The trade-off is that discipline is on you: twenty to twenty-two hours a day, every day.
Because we’re a general practice, we are watching more than tooth position while you’re in treatment. Crowded teeth are harder to clean, and straightening them often improves gum health as a side effect. If a crown or a filling needs doing along the way, it gets sequenced into the plan instead of derailing it.
What clear aligners treat well
Crowding
The most common adult complaint, and usually the fastest to correct.
Spacing and gaps
Closing spaces predictably, including after tooth loss.
Relapse after old braces
Short cases, often four to six months, for teeth that have drifted back.
Mild bite problems
Overbite, underbite and crossbite within a certain range respond well.
Before restorative work
Moving a tooth into the right position first often means a smaller, more conservative restoration afterward.
What they don’t fix
Severe skeletal discrepancies and cases needing surgical correction belong with an orthodontist or surgeon. We refer when that is the honest answer.
How treatment runs
Consultation and scan
A digital scan of your teeth — no impression trays — plus photographs and X-rays.
The plan, on screen
You see a simulation of the movement before you commit, along with the time and cost.
Aligners arrive
Each set is worn one to two weeks. Small tooth-colored attachments are sometimes bonded to teeth to give the aligners grip.
Check-ins
Roughly every six to eight weeks, and they are short. Early appointments at 7:00am keep them out of your working day.
Refinement
Most cases get a short extra series at the end to fine-tune the result. This is normal, not a sign something went wrong.
Retention
A retainer at night, indefinitely. It is the difference between a result and a phase.
The honest version is that aligners work exactly as well as you wear them. Everything else about the case we can control.Paras Jain, DDS

How long does Invisalign take?
Minor crowding or a relapse after old braces can finish in four to six months. A fuller correction usually runs twelve to eighteen. We give you a realistic range at the consultation rather than a best case.
Can a general dentist do Invisalign, or do I need an orthodontist?
Both treat with Invisalign. The advantage of doing it where you already get your cleanings is that the same practice is watching your gums, your bite and your restorations throughout — and if a filling or crown needs attention mid-treatment, it gets handled without coordinating between two offices. Genuinely complex skeletal cases still belong with an orthodontist, and we’ll say so if yours is one.
How many hours a day do I have to wear the aligners?
Twenty to twenty-two. They come out to eat and to brush. This is the single biggest predictor of whether treatment finishes on schedule — the aligners only work while they are in.
Will it affect how I talk?
There is usually a slight lisp for the first few days with each new set, and it resolves as your tongue adapts. Most people find it stops being noticeable within a week.
What’s the difference between Invisalign and CandidPro?
Both are clear aligner systems we offer. CandidPro generally suits more straightforward cases at a lower price point; Invisalign has a wider range of attachments and techniques for complex movement. We’ll tell you which one actually fits your case rather than defaulting to the more expensive option.
Do I need retainers afterward?
Yes, and this is not optional. Teeth drift back toward where they started for the rest of your life. A retainer worn at night is what makes the result permanent.
